Porter D. Amrine, 82, former resident of Marysville Rt. 5, died at the Latham Nursing Home in Bellefontaine at 5:30 p.m. Thursday [Nov 8].

A retired operating engineer and farmer, he was born May 20, 1891 in Union County to James and Nancy (Blue) Amrine. He was married in 1918 to the former Helen Bushman who died in 1971.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Miami Valley Steam Thrasher's Association, Liberty Grange, DAV and a veteran of World War I.

Surviving are three sons, James and John of Marysville and Robert of Renton, Wash.; two daughters, Anna Mae Blevins, Columbus and Helen Lucille Hildreth, Bellefontaine; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
