Sara Belle King Casey, 84, of the Collard Valley Community, Cedartown, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003. Mrs. Casey was born in Polk County on Aug. 16, 1918 to the late James Samuel and Cora Wood King. She was a member and a Sunday School teacher for many years in the five-year-old department of the First Baptist Church of Cedartown and had recently been attending Sunday School and church at Collard Valley Baptist Church. She was an active Red Cross Volunteer in Cedartown and a working member of the Collard Valley Homemakers Club for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Fredrick Kendall Casey, Sr. ; an infant daughter; sister, Emma Nelle King; brothers, Woodson Randolph King and James Baron King. Survivors include sons, Fredrick Kendell Casey, Jr. and William Jefferson Casey, both of Cedartown; sister, Anne Delle Smith of Fort Pierce, FL; brother, Samuel Charles King of Cedartown; 5 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, one step-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, February 25 at 11 a.m. from the Collard Valley Baptist Church with the –Rev. Gene Beck and Dr. Charles Drummond officiating. Interment followed in the Northview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Josh Casey, Charlie King, Randy King, Ray King, Blake Parris and Phil Tuck. The Lester C.
