Ellen Sullivan 25, of Rectory, VA was fatally hurt when she was struck by a car while walking along Route 1, three miles south of Triangle on Sunday, August 16, 1936 about 1:30 p.m. She was walking on the right side of the road. The car going northbound, swung around a curve on the left side of the highway and hit Ellen. She died a short time later.
