Mr. Clay, son of the late Sarah Evelyn and John Henry Clay, Sr., was a lifelong resident of Macon. He was a 1963 graduate of Willingham High School and served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War with Military Police. Mr. Clay was a service technician with Atlanta Gas Light Company retiring after thirty-five years. He was formerly a Booster Club President at Windsor Academy and was an avid Atlanta Falcons fan. He had coached Midget Football at Central City Park and Little League Bloomfield Baseball. Mr. Clay attended Liberty United Methodist Church. He was the brother of the late John Henry Clay, Jr. and Ellen Ennis. Nearest his heart was his love for his family and being a "doting" granddaddy known as "Pops," loved spending time with his granddaughters.
