Wilbert Harrison Goodmon was born on November 4th, 1923, in Newby, Oklahoma.  He went to be with the Lord on January 6th, 2017 at the age of 93 years, 2 months & 2 days.

He was one of eight children (five girls and three boys) born to Marcus Lafayette Goodmon and Agnes Adeline Dove, and all of his siblings have now preceded him in death. He was the only son to live of the three that were born and the youngest.

Wilbert graduated from Bristow High School then joined the Navy on 17 July 1943 during World War II, where he served on the U.S.S. Maryland.

He and Norma Jean Watts were married May 15th, 1945.  They were blessed with two daughters, Joyce & Wilberta Jean.  He and Norma Jean were saved in January of 1952 and Wilbert felt the call to preach, preaching his first sermon on Easter Sunday 1952.

He is survived by wife Norma; Daughters Joyce Welcher and husband Ron & Wilberta Witty; Grandchildren Shelly Storts & husband Robby, Kris O'Brien & husband Sean, Brad Welcher & wife Jenny, Randy Witty & wife April, Curtis Witty & wife Summer. Great-grandchildren Denae Green & husband Kent, Derek Storts & wife Courtney, Tyler Welcher & wife Jordan, Garrett Welcher, Kylee, Cameron, Kenadee & Conner O'Brien, Garrett, Dylan & Alex Witty, Carson & Caden Witty.  Great, great grandchildren Harleigh & Ruger Green and Baby Storts coming in June; a brother in law Earl Watts and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends & church family.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00PM, Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the First Church of God in Sapulpa, Oklahoma with Pastor William Wimmer and Brother Charles Jones officiating.  Interment will follow at the Magnolia Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bristow, Oklahoma.
