She was employed by the Franklin Township Elementary School as a secretary in the Child Study Team, for 25 years, before her retirement. Prior to that she was a secretary with Ingersoll Rand in Phillipsburg. Karen was a 1970 graduate of Liberty High School and earned an Associates Degree in 1972 from Northampton County Community College. She loved animals, especially her dogs, Cedar and Dixie. She also showed Golden Retrievers, earning awards. She enjoyed riding with her husband, in their Corvette; enjoyed family gatherings at her home and shopping with her sisters. Karen was a member of Simply Grace United Methodist Church in Bloomsbury.
She is survived by a brother Gary Glick of Montoursville, PA; three sisters, Jeanne Olewiler of Bethlehem, Sharon Garcia and husband, Ed, of Zionsville, PA and Kathleen Sportelli and husband, Stephen, of Easton; and four nephews, Greg and Scott Olewiler and Gary J. and William Glick. A sister-in-law, Carolyn Glick, passed away earlier.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Simply Grace United Methodist Church, 61 Church St, Bloomsbury under the direction of Doyle-Devlin Funeral Home, Inc. in Phillipsburg. A visitation will be held Monday from 9 a.m. to time of services in the Church. Burial will be in Bloomsbury Cemetery.
