Steve John Aguirre, 89, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away at 7:40 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 at his home. He was born on May 26, 1927 in St. Joseph, MO to Felipe & Maria Jeronima Aguirre. He married Benita Prado on January 28, 1950 in Fort Madison, IA. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of Sacred Heart Church. He loved his children and grandchildren greatly and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a lifelong Chicago Cub's fan.
Steve is survived by: his wife: Benita Aguirre of Fort Madison, IA; 2-daughters: Dolores "Dee" Aguirre of Fort Madison, IA & Cathy (Mark) Bentler of Fort Madison, IA; 5-grandchildren: Matthew & Marcus Weiler, Jason Juarez & Angela & Alex Bentler and 7-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2-sisters & 3-brothers.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2017 with a rosary to be recited at 3:30 p.m. all at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Mark P. Spring officiating. Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Holy Family Parish.
