When Debbie was 40, she located her birth mother, Jane Martin in Calgary, Canada. They were reunited and Debbie learned she had a half sister. Janelle and two half brothers, John and Drew.
In 2005 Debbie and Jerry retired to Waldport on the Oregon coast where they enjoyed walking the beach in search of glass floats and other treasures. Debbie had a husband, Jerry, daughter, Tami Summerhill, daughter Lindy Hayes and spouse, Doug, and son Colin Butler and wife, Kelly. She was also gifted with eight beautiful grandchildren plus a girl due in January.
Debbie was diagnosed with Progressive Supra-nuclear Palsy in early 2014, a cruel and debilitating disease that she fought with unbelievable strength and courage. She lost her battle on November 27th with her loving family at her side. A memorial service will be held at Cornwell Wilsonville Funeral Chapel in Wilsonville, Oregon on December 16th at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Portland Fire Toy and Joy Makers to help a child enjoy Christmas, Debbie's most favorite time of the year.
