Funeral services for H. G. "Sonny" Anderson, 82, of Winnsboro will be held 2 pm Saturday, January 7, 2017, in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Fletcher, Rev. Kevin Goodman, and Ronnie Dunn officiating. Interment will follow in Lone Cherry Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 am until time of service.

Mr. Anderson was born October 29, 1934 in Richland Parish to the union of Harrod Low Anderson and Nora Loraine Grantham Anderson, he passed from this life on January 5, 2017 at his residence in Winnsboro.

Mr. Anderson was a United States Veteran serving in the National Guard. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and raising quails.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one grandchild, April Loraine Armstrong.

Survivors include his six children: Beverly Anderson Williams and husband Rockie of Delhi; Barbara Anderson Ferrington and husband Mickey of Wisner; William Howard "Bill" Anderson and wife Sandy of Winnsboro; Brenda Anderson Ellington and husband Noble, Jr. of Winnsboro; Carla Beth Anderson and Cliff Moseley of Rayville; Brian Howard Anderson of Port Sulphur; mother of his children, Nettye Jean Lott Archibald of Delhi; wife Jewell M. Anderson; two sisters: Emma June Chapman of Winnsboro and Shirley Ann Tilley and husband Larry of Ruston; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jackie "Bubba" Hayes, Chris Fortenberry, Trent Williams, Jon-Reese Armstrong, Dakota Lane Norris, and Chandler Scott Boles

Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Dowling and Geovonni Johnson, Jr.
