Jared Ray Lewis, (April 16, 1989 - January 3, 2017)

Jared Ray Lewis, 27 of Yoe, passed away due to a battle with addiction on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 4:44 pm at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.

Born April 16, 1989 in York, he was the beloved son of Dennis Ray and Diane Marie (Reiker) Lewis, and the loving boyfriend of 3 ½ years to Keisha Shaw.

Jared was a 2007 graduate of Dallastown High School, and was previously employed by Manor Care Dallastown and Weis Markets. He enjoyed fishing, playing and listening to music (especially the band Rush) and visiting the beach. He loved to visit the family campsite in Cameron County, and to spend time with friends.

In addition to his parents and girlfriend, Jared is survived by his Brother, Jed Lewis, his wife April and their son Solomon of Dallastown. He is also survived by his grandfather, Sidney "Papaw" Lewis of Dallastown; his grandma, Shirley Reiker of Dallastown; his uncles: Dave (Brenda), Tom (Mary Ann) and Gregg (Kimm); Aunt Deb and Uncle Steve; his cousins: Renee (Jim), Alexa, her husband, Joe and their son, Landon, Landa, Pam, Tori, Erik and Mia, his beloved black cat, Layla as well as many other loving family members and friends.

Jared was preceded in death by his grandmother, Pauline "Mamaw" Lewis and Grandpa Joe Reiker.

A service to celebrate Jared's life will be held at 10 AM on Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, PA with Rev. Don Belch officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Sunday, January 8, from 6-8 PM, and again on Monday from 9 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Yoe Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jared's name may be made to the York County SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406. The family has asked that donors specify on their check or online donation form that funds be specifically directed to benefit cats.
