SFC Aaron S. Bowen, U S Army (Ret.), 92, of McKenney, VA, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016.
He was the widower of Edith Daniel Bowen and is survived by his loving companion of over 30 years, Mary Rose Tunnell of McKenney; two sons, John Wayne Bowen (Karen) and Philip David Bowen (Vickie), all of McKenney; a daughter, Angela Bowen Duncan of Carson; four grandchildren, Michael Bowen (Donna) of Richmond, Melissa DeSantis (Chris) of Herndon, Jason Lane Hawks and Katie Louise Hawks, both of Carson; four great-grandchildren, Hayden and Brooklyn Bowen, Camryn and Ryan DeSantis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bowen was a war time veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.
A memorial service with full military honors will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, June 12, 2016, at the Joseph McMillian Funeral Home, 1826 Cox Rd. (Bus. Hwy. 460), near Blackstone. The family will receive friends following the service.
