Phyllis June Fowler nee LaPlaca, age 79. Of Bridgman, MI., formerly of Gray, GA and Palos Heights, IL. At rest January 3, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Robert W. Loving mother of Joan (Ron) Waller and Robert (Maria) Fowler. Proud grandmother of Scott Snyder, Stephanie Snyder, Sofia Fowler, Jennifer Knight, Katie Morgan and great-grandmother of Joey and Hayden Knight and Alexis Morgan. Dearest sister of Nathan LaPlaca. Memorial visitation will be held Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 S. Central Ave., Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Inurnment at a future date will be next to Bob at Queen of All Saints Mausoleum (Queen of Heaven Cemetery) in Hillside, IL. Phyllis was born on July 20, 1937 in Chicago to Michael and Rose (nee Cannatella) LaPlaca. She was an avid reader, loved jazz music and a big fan of "old blue eyes" Frank Sinatra. Phyllis, being a true caregiver was a dedicated parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish in Palos Hills for many years where she was a Minister of Care and served Communion in church and to shut-ins.
