Melvin D. Weber was born July 7, 1931 at Ethan, SD to Frank and Marie (Leven) Weber. He grew up living in Ethan, Redfield and the Parkston areas. Melvin served in the US Army. On July 30, 1952 he married Lureta Heiman in Ethan. They farmed near Ethan for several years and then moved to Mitchell where he worked many years for Coca-Cola Bottling Company and Trail King Industries. He retired from Trail King in 1993. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the VFW, American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.

Melvin is survived by his wife, Lureta; three sons: Rev. Terry Weber, Gary Weber and Allen Weber; two daughters: Linda Potts and Diane Babcock; one sister, Phyllis Mohr; one sister-in-law, Lorraine Losser; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Weber; daughter, Sue Griess; granddaughter, Miranda Babcock; brother-in-law, Carl Losser and brother-in-law, DeWayne Mohr.
