Elizabeth A. “Liz” Olsen, 54, passed away January 3, 2017 at her home in Platte City, MO; after a long hard 2 year battle with stomach cancer. Liz fought relentlessly with the slogan #TeamLiz “Can’t Stop! Won’t Stop!” Liz was born November 15, 1962 in Bethesda, MD to David and Miyoko Takahashi Olsen. She lived in Japan for 10 years prior to moving to San Diego. Liz was a personal banker for Platte Valley Bank. Liz loved working at the Bank and struck up many lasting friendships with not only her employers and co-workers but customers as well. Liz married Scott Miller on February 14, 2000 in San Diego, CA. Liz was active in social networking and to know her was to love her. She brought joy wherever she went through her larger than life personality and infectious smile. Liz was very patriotic and showed love for her country and Military through her celebrations of various national holidays. Her kids were her true inspiration, and Liz especially loved to watch them play sports. She was preceded in death by: a brother Eddie Olsen. Liz is survived by: her parents; her husband Scott Miller of the home; her step daughter Brittany Miller; her children Jacob Olsen and fiancé Joslynn Roland, Hannah Miller, and Dane Miller; her brother Eugene Olsen; her sister Linda (John) Straub; her niece and nephew Evan and Lauren Straub; and many other family and friends. A visitation will be held 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Platte City United Methodist Church, 14040 State Hwy N, Platte City, MO; followed by a 3:00 p.m. memorial service.
