Son of Casey and Marinda Compton Wightman. Served bet. August 09, 1862 - June 08, 1865 in Co. I, 1st Wisc. Inf. and Co. F, 21st Wisc. Inf. as a Private. Married first to Eva Johnston, by whom he had four children: Frances M., Perry A., Arthur C. and Ruby. Remarried to Parthena Cannon (nee Quimby) in 1909. Both he and Parthena were residents of the WI Vets Home until their deaths. See death/funeral notices published in Waupaca Co. Post (WI) dated 2/13 & 2/20/1936.
