Marjorie "Marg" Jean Ellis, 79, died Friday, June 23, 2006, at an Overland Park, Kansas nursing home.

She was born Dec. 5, 1926, at Chanute, Kansas, the daughter of Roy and Nellie (Willoughby) John.

She graduated from Chanute High School.

She married Ralph Henry Ellis on Feb. 3, 1947, in Humboldt, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2000.

She was a member of the Holly Study Club, Quilting Club, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and the Women's Altar Guild of the Church, all in Chanute, Kansas.

She is survived by a son, Clint Ellis, Salina, KS; four daughters, Mary Carter, Norman, OK, Jean Garten, Olathe, KS, Janet Brown and Barbara Mann, both of Wichita, KS; a brother, Grant John; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jim John.

Burial will be June 28, 2006, in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Humboldt, Kansas.
