PEORIA - Rose Mary Bates, age 79, of Peoria passed away at 3:19 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born Dec. 25, 1927, in Peoria, to Leo and Thelma (Clauson) Stein. She married Paul D. Bates on Oct. 7, 1947, in Peoria.
He survives along with two daughters, Leslie Pinner of Deerfield and Lisa (Jeff) Joyce of Peoria; four grandchildren that were the light of her life, Matthew and Jennifer Pinner of Deerfield, Chip and Molly Joyce of Peoria; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She loved spending time with her family, feeding the ducks at the marina and picnics on Grandview Drive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and a nephew.
Rose Mary was a preschool teacher for many years at Rogy's Learning Center in Peoria, retiring in the early 1990's.
Services will be private with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
