Maurice A. Edwards "Sister Girl" passed away peacefully at 5:19 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016. Born in Haynesville, La. on June 23, 1928, she was the eight of 10 children. This country girl moved to Houston in 1951 and acquired another affectionate name "Ms. Maurice". She worked in the Harris County Hospital District until retirement in 1985. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gail; she leaves to mourn her children, Linda, Idera, Joyce and Henry, Jr., a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends who she greatly loved and adored. Visitation Monday, January 9, 2017 from 10-10:55. Funeral at 11:00 a.m. Both services will be held in the Chapel of TROY B. SMITH PROFESSIONAL SERVICES, 9013 Scott, Houston, TX, Rev. Walter Turner, Officiating. Interment Houston National Cemetery.
