Leah Ray Bowen, 92, of Valdosta, passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, after a lengthy illness. Born in Perrysville, Indiana, on July 27, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Noah and Lucy Pritchard Allen. Leah loved her family and in turn was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A member of Faith Baptist Church, she cherished her relationships with her church family. She had a special love for her feline companion, "Kitty Baby".
Survivors are her son and daughter in law, Roger and Linda Bowen of Kings Port, Tennessee; daughter in law, Rose Bowen of Valdosta; grandchildren, Stephen and Christy Bowen of Kingsport, Tennessee, Tony and Sherrie Hall of Birmingham, Alabama, Shannon and Dennis Barlow of Valdosta, Chris Bowen of Johnson City, Tennessee, Brad Bowen of Kinsgport, Tennessee, Bob Hall of Birmingha, Alabama, and Kevin Hall of Parrish, Alabama; great grandchildren, Colby and Haley Barlow, Abby Bowen, Lucas Baines; brother, Rendall Allen of Lake Michigan, Michigan, sister, Beverly Tuttle of Bluffton, Indiana; a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Bowen and her son, Rex Bowen.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017, at 4:00 p.m. at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Pastor Gene Wisehart and Pastor Mickey Wisehart will officiate. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home is serving the Bowen family
