Shaine W. McMillen, 22, died suddenly from a seizure disorder on Saturday, December 31, 2016.

Born in Albany he was the beloved son of Lowell S. and Jean M. (Hall) McMillen. Shaine was a graduate of Bethlehem High School and was working as a graphic designer for Contemporary Designs in Albany.

Shaine was always smiling and had a big personality that could brighten anyone’s day. Shaine loved hiking, swimming and adventuring outdoors. He liked collecting coins, playing video games and playing all kinds of sports, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors in addition to his parents include his siblings, Lauren (Mark) Gilmore, Suzanne (Jeffrey) Arthurs, Lowell McMillen, Jr., Brandon (fiancé Erin McCartan) McMillen and Joseph McMillen; maternal grandmother, Lois Hall; paternal grandmother, Edith McMillen; nieces and nephews, Aubrey, Reid, Brandon Jr. and Meila; aunts and uncles, Shevaun and Michael Towers, Jamie Hall, James J. III and Debbie Hall, Laurie Hall, Nancy and Paul Savoie, Paul and Diane Hall, Patrick and Christine Hall, Tara and John Daniels, Maura and Douglas Forney, Larry and Sheryl Hall, Lois and Victor DeJohn, Bonnie and Jim Sweeney, Geraldine and Ron Dames, Elbert McMillen, Jr., Wynn and Marlene McMillen, Randall and Sonya McMillen, Layne and Patti McMillen and Craig and Joyce McMillen as well as 58 first cousins. Shaine was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, James J. Hall; paternal grandfather, Elbert A. McMillen and his cousin, James J. Hall, IV.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Shaine’s family on Friday January 6, 2017 from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Historic St. Mary’s Church on Capitol Hill, 10 Lodge St. Albany. Burial will be held privately in the spring.
