Born in Hattiesburg, she was the daughter of F. M. Smith, Sr. and Louise Fox.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lagena and Matt Everette of Laurel; sister, Ginny Perrett of Clinton; brother, F. M. Smith (Sue) and sister, Denise Morgan (Steven) all of Laurel; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Mrs. Sims was a former member of Magnolia Baptist Church and a current member of First Baptist Church of Laurel.
She was a long-time volunteer at The American Red Cross and a precious mother with the heart of a child. She was a skilled artist who loved to color, loved ice cream and Elvis Presley.
Visitation will be held at Memory Chapel Friday, January 6 from 5 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 7 at 10 a.m. at Memory Chapel. Dr. Randy Turner will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Hattiesburg.
Pallbearers will be Richard Purvis, David Purvis, Thomas Purvis, Ben Morgan, Luke Morgan, and Wayne Fletcher.
