Peggy Sue James, 82, of Norris City, Illinois, formerly of Maunie, Illinois, died Wednesday, January 04, 2017, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born October 27, 1934, in Maunie, Illinois, the daughter of Henry D. Stuky and Beulah M. (Creek) Stuky. She was married to Ervin Clarence James and he survives.
Peggy was a Certified Nurse Assistant and worked in the Carmi area for 28 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church, and enjoyed playing cards, bingo, crocheting, and going out to eat. But her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include son, Evan James of Maunie; daughter Tracy (Russell) Payne of Norris City; brother Harry (Debbie) McCandless of Texas; grandchildren Jaime Payne, Justyn Payne, Gage James; great grandchild Conner Payne.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son Eric James; sister Delores A. Potchebski; and brother Larry McCandless.
