He was born on April 8, 1919, on Smith Creek (Franklin), WV, the son of the late Charles and Pearlie Etta (Moyers) Hartman.
Edwin was preceded in death by his first wife, Zedora Hartman.
On January 7, 1987, he married his wife of 30 years, Rosetta Kimble Huffman Hartman, who survives in Franklin.
Edwin attended school in Pendleton County.
He retired after 33 ½ years as a Steel Mill Worker from Lectromelt in Pittsburgh, PA.
After his retirement, he had a passion for picking apples and worked at Soergel's Orchards in Wexford, PA,.
Ed loved cutting firewood, working in the chicken houses, spending time with family, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers play NFL Football.
In addition to his wife, Edwin is survived by: a son, Edwin "Eddie" Hartman and wife Susan of Worthington, PA; 2 step sons, John P. Huffman and wife Lori, Billy Huffman and wife Anita, all of Franklin; a brother, Charles Hartman and wife Gladys of Franklin; 4 grandchildren, Brad and Shawn Hartman of PA, and Brittany and Hunter Huffman of Franklin; and 6 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by: 3 sisters, Catherine Smith, Dessie Witt, Retha Radovich; 3 half sisters, Mary Sponaugle, Vergie Bennett, Eva Simmons; and 3 half brothers, William, Russell, and Leslie Lambert.
Edwin's family will receive friends on Saturday, January 7, 2016, Noon until 2:00 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV.
Funeral services will follow at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin.
