SHARON L. PERKINS, 80, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, at Heritage Park Health Care Center. Born in Bluffton, Ind., Sharon worked at Wayne Welding for many years, and also was a lifetime childcare provider. She was a lifetime member of North Highlands Church of Christ. Surviving are her children, Frank (Laura) Perkins, Tammy (Ken) Harrold and Tara Ault, all of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; and siblings, Joyce (Dick) Apple of Alvordton, Ohio, Kent (Marilyn) Burkhead of Fort Wayne, Janet (Joe) Goff of South Whitley, Ind., Becky Fischer of Fort Wayne, Randy (Debra) Frederick of Tulsa, Okla., and Doug (Claudia) Frederick of Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vern E. and Wanda E Frederick; husband, Frank Perkins; son, Timothy Perkins; and brother, Jim Burkhead. "She was very much loved and will be missed by many." Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
