Verna Ilene Robertson, 90, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Verna was born January 3, 1927 in Blackfoot Idaho to Abram Scott and Mabel Florene Stewart Scott.
Verna attended school in Rocjford and graduated from Thomas High School.
On June 25, 1945 she married Finch Robertson in the Salt Lake City Temple. Finch preceded her in death on August 28, 1995.
She spent her lifetime in Blackfoot until after her mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she faithfully served in New Jersey. After her mission she took up residence in St. George, Utah, during the winter months until her health necessitated coming back to Rockford permanently.
Verna worked for Modern Mills in Rockford and was a receptionist for Dr. Gardner. She also worked for the Snake River School District where she worked as secretary for Rockford Elementry for 21 years.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and loved serving in the Primary. Verna volunteered as a driver for Meals on Wheels. In her free time she enjoyed gardening and was an accomplished seamstress.
Verna is survived by her sons, Kim Robertson, of Rockford, Chet (Debbie) Robertson of Moreland; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Finch Robertson; parents, Abram and Mabel Scott; daughter, Connie Hindmarsh; brothers, Glen Scott, Leland Scott, Wayne Scott, Frank Scott; and sisters, Vonnie Goodwin, and Elva Miller.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Blackfoot West Stake Center with Bishop Arlin Stimpson of the Thomas 2nd Ward conducting. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Hawker Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the stake center.
