Donald W. Groves, age 77, passed away suddenly on July 8, 2015 and went home to be with the Lord.

A life resident of the Akron-Tallmadge area, Don owned Dependable Remodeling Services for more than 45 years prior to his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was an active and dedicated member of Victory Life Church. Don enjoyed hunting and spending time at his cabin, and working on cars and trucks. His greatest love was being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Ada; and sisters, Marlene and Donna, he is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sandra; sons, David (Eileen), Dan (Carol) and Douglas (Tina); grandchildren, Dahllas (Kris), Allison (Sam), Melanie (Matt), Austin (Liana), Brandon and Courtney (Kenny); great-grandchildren, Jada, Jasmine, Jacob, Alivia, Kyle and Raelyn; brother, Dennis (Pam); sister, Diana; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Family and friends will be received Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m., and Sunday, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312, where funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m., with Dale Wagner (Elder) officiating. Inurnment with military honors will take place at a later date at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorials to Victory Life Church, 3833 Hudson Dr., Stow, OH 44224.
