Death of John Tierney, Who Came to Marquette in 1863
The death of John Tierney, an old resident of Marquette, occurred yesterday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. Murphy, 235 West Ohio Street. Mr. Tierney came to Marquette in 1863 and has been continuously a resident of the city. He was for a long period of years employed as a furnaceman, and was well known to all the old-timers. His age was eighty-five years. Besides his daughter, Mrs. Murphy, Mr. Tierney is also survived by one son, Michael Tierney, of Blemhuber avenue. His death was not unexpected. The funeral arrangements were not completed yesterday.
