Graveside Memorial service for George Douglas Antley, Sr., 75 of Lawton will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma with Rev. John Clipp officiating.
Mr. Antley passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 in Lawton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
George was born on June 14, 1941 in Orangeburg, South Carolina to George and Ruby Antley. He grew up in South Carolina and later joined the United States Army. He is a Vietnam Veteran and served his country for over 12 years. He received many awards and medals including the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, 2nd award, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Mechanic's Badge, Driver's Badge with Driver's Bar, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Overseas Service Bar. He later worked in the Highway Construction Business.
He is survived by his life Companion, Rose Hernandez, of the home; his son and daughter in law, Doug and Michelle Antley, of Orangeburg, SC; three daughters and a son in law, Melissa and Pete Georgianna, of Davie, Florida, Beth Huck, of Lawton, OK and Kim Turkleson, of Lawton, OK; his brother, Johnny Garrick, of Orangeburg, SC; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. His great grandsons; Carson and Candon Payton, both of the home. His sisters and brother in law; Anne Bledsoe of Cope, S.C. and Sheriley and Hansel Smith of Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Bobby Jack Antley.
