He was born on July 4, 1931, in Magoffin County, Kentucky, the son of Ransom and Goldie Fletcher. Carl was a veteran of the United States Army who served in combat during the Korean War. He worked for Goodyear Tire for several years and engaged in other occupations throughout his life. He had a witty and humorous side that always brought a smile to all those that heard him speak. His interests included many things such as mastering the slot machine, building, gardening, and being with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his 7 children, his 2 brothers, his 2 sisters, his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Gay Fletcher, his brothers, James and Lorn, and his sisters, Sharon, Levetcha, and Betsy Lee.
Burial at Oaklawn Cemetery, Stockbridge.
