Margie McAlister Hopkins, 73, wife of the late James Wallace Hopkins, of 221 Robert Grant Drive, Westminster, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016, at GHS Cottingham Hospice House.
A native of Westminster, SC, Mrs. Hopkins was the daughter of the late Willie Wesley and Mildred James McAlister. She worked as a lab technician at Sara Lee Knit Products in Rabun Gap, GA, and was a member of Coneross Church of God.
Mrs. Hopkins is survived by her sons: Gordon Wallace Hopkins (Geri) of Fair Play and Danny Eugene Hopkins (Jennifer) of Westminster; daughter: Cheryl H. Fricks of Westminster; brother: Curtis McAlister; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a special friend: Paul McCall.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hopkins is preceded in death by her daughter: Angie Hopkins; brothers: Ray and Steve McAlister; and one granddaughter: Amber Fricks.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 2, 2017, at Davenport Funeral Home with burial to follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from, 1:00-2:00 PM, Monday, January 2, 2017, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Oconee Hospice of the Foothills, GHS Cottingham Hospice House, Attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC 29672.
