Joseph Lawton “J. L.” Taylor, Sr. age 78, of Alma passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. He was son of the late Joseph Clinton Taylor, Sr. and Winnie Mae Mercer Taylor. J L was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Bryant Taylor, his son, Joseph Lawton Taylor, Jr., a grandchild, Joshua Lawton Phillips, one brother, Joe Brown Taylor and a sister, Coleen Taylor Howell.
Survivors include three children, Charles Randall Bryant (Tammy), Jamie Scott Taylor (Rebecca) both of Alma and Lisa Ann Taylor Phillips of Pearson, GA., one brother, Joseph Clinton Taylor, Jr. (Angie) of Baxley; also 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 4th at from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home at 12:00 PM with Rev. R. B. Gaskins officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf Pit Cemetery
