Anne married her first husband, Jeff Gill, on April 27, 1957 - her 21st birthday. Together, the two travelled by ship to Canada in July of 1963, and would eventually settle in Cambridge, Waterloo, Ontario. They would also have three daughters: Helen (born 1964), Sharon (born 1966), and Nancy (born 1969). They would eventually divorce.
On July 25, 1989, Anne married long-time family friend Ewen McKittrick. They lived happily until his death in 1995, after which Anne moved to Owen Sound, Ontario, to be closer to family. On October 14, 2008, Anne passed away after a long battle with ovarian cancer.
Anne McKittrick is remembered as loving sister, mother, and friend. She was an artist with a needle and thread as much as with a paintbrush, and sewed clothes and costumes for her daughters and grandchildren over the years. She is remembered through the yearly blooming of daffodils around her birthday: forever a sign of happier days to come.
