Donna McCormick, 79, of Menasha, formerly of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016 at her home.
She was born on Jan. 16, 1937 in Excelsior, Wis. to James and Mardella (Dyer) Flynn. She graduated from Boscobel High School in 1954. She married Paul McCormick on October 31, 1959 at St. Philips Catholic Church at Rolling Ground.
After their marriage, they lived for a while in Port Washington, Wis. They later moved to Madison and Monona. They both worked at the Burr Oak Bowling Alley on Park Street for a lot of years. During this time, they both loved to bowl and dance to country and western music. After retirement, they moved to Monona. After Paul’s death, Donna moved to Menasha, first in her own apartment and later with her daughter Mary.
QVC was her number one hobby. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers.
She is survived by three daughters: Tracy (Ken) Byl of Soldiers Grove, Mary (friend, Mike) Gorzelitz of Menasha, and Marcy (Steve) Salmon of Mazomanie; her grandchildren: Jason, Heidi, Kenneth, John, Trevor, Bryce, and Max; her great grandchildren: Maylee, Gracie, Thais, Carson, Kenlinn, Jacion, and Kasen; her sister: Betty Fry of Monona; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband (in 1992), her daughter Paula (1982), 3 brothers: Laddie, Larry, and Jimmy Flynn; and her son-in-law: Matthew Gorzelitz.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, at 11 AM at St. Philips Catholic Church at Rolling Ground. Father Zachary Beya will officiate and burial will be in the St. Philips Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9 AM until time of services. The Sime Funeral Home of Readstown is serving the family.
