A native of Caswell County, she was the daughter of Joseph G. Barker and Ida S. Barker. Miss Barker was a former bookkeeper for Canady Wayside Furniture.
She was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church.
Miss Hazel was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, whom she loved dearly. Her brothers and sisters were Dewey, Carl, Perry, Malcolm, Joe, Paul, Frances "Fannie" Hurdle, Lois Forehand and Arlene Payne Roach.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Mausoleum Chapel at Alamance Memorial Park on Friday, January 6, 2017
Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
