Elizabeth Jane Bee, better known as “Lizzie” was the daughter of Raymond Lucas Bee and Sarah Ellen Anderson. She grew up in Winslow, Pike, Indiana. When she was young, her mother, Sarah, died. Her father, who had been a farmer, now left the farm, with 4 young children: Ella, Charles, Elizabeth, and Henry.

Ray became a coal miner and moved to Patoka, for the Ingle Coal Company in Winslow... Coal mining was at its peak demand in the USA at that time.

In 1910, Ray married Addie "Ida" Belle Walton Coleman, a widow. She brought 5 children of her own into that marriage: George, Maud, Anna, Estelle, and Austin. Her husband had died the year before in a mining accident. There was to be one more child, Raymond Denver Bee.

Raymond was working for the Ingle Coal Company when Elizabeth married William R. Wilson on November 11, 1920. They lived in Vanderburgh County at the time. She was 20 years old.

Little is known about William R. Wilson. He’s not to be confused with William Dock Wilson. He doesn’t appear to have been a coal miner. He worked as a farmer. He went to war in 1917, fighting in the World War to end all conflicts, as evidenced by the bronze plaque at his grave. He wasn’t drafted. He likely enlisted. Willie appeared in the 1920 federal census, as a farm laborer, living next to his father and mother, John Wilson and Mary Bashford on Rumsey Road, in Island, McLean, Kentucky. He is listed as a widower.

I have not found any children for Willie and Lizzie. Elizabeth died in 1964. William in 1967. Enlightenment would be welcomed.
