Joan Marie Hudson passed away peacefully at home on December 30, 2016.
She was born to Roy and Clara Hudson on April 21, 1935 in Cutbank, Montana.
Joan grew up and attended school in Everett, Washington. She married Verner "Jack" Hudson on September 13, 1958 and they spent 49 cherished years together before Jack's passing in 1997. Joan and Jack moved to Skagit Valley and raised their 3 children in Mount Vernon. After Jack's passing, Joan moved to Sedro-Woolley, where she spent the last 18 years.
Joan was an avid golfer and was active in bowling leagues for many years. She enjoyed traveling around the state to various bowling tournaments with her daughter and friends. More recently, she was fond of her weekly lunch outings and playing Mexican train with her friends. Playing cards was her favorite pastime, along with spending time with family.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and her son, Jeffrey Hudson.
Joan is survived by her son, William "Dale" Hudson (Jana) of Longview, her daughter Tracy Guadano (Mike) of Sedro-Woolley, sisters Lavonn Nuse, Kathleen Reid (Ron), Jeanine Smith (Ron), her twin Joy Hutchings, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.
Graveside services will be Friday, January 6, 2017, 2PM at Hawthorne Memorial Park, 1825 E. College way, Mount Vernon. There will be a gathering afterwards at Joan's house in Carriage Court in Sedro-Woolley.
Arrangements are under the care of Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, WA.
