Steven Austin Frye of High Point passed from this earthly existence to his new heavenly home on Sunday, January 1, 2017. He is free from all his struggles and now has a new body with two good legs.

Steve was born on October 27, 1964 to Darrell L. and Libby Shaver Frye. He had lived in this area all of his life. He was a 1982 graduate of Trinity High School, a 1990 graduate of Appalachian State University, and was employed with Domino’s Pizza for twenty–eight years.

Steve had a big heart and a great respect for his fellow man. He never met a stranger and had a smile and friendly greeting for everyone. He had a remarkable knowledge of history and a special grasp of the English language, especially in literature. He would write short stories that anyone would find entertaining. In music, he was a follower of the Grateful Dead with a sizable collection of their tunes.

Steve’s greatest love and interest was for his family. He enjoyed, and usually won, playing a variety of board games with his family. He remembered most occasions and events from his childhood and beyond. He especially liked holidays with each one holding a special memory unique to that day. He kept mementoes as reminders of special days and happenings in his life.

Steve was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Elaine Shaver of High Point and his paternal grandparents, Austin (Bud) and Rosa Lee Frye of Archdale. Grandmaw and Grandpaw Frye often took him on camping trips as a young boy where he would be provided with all the Blow Pops he could eat. He was also preceded in death by a special nephew, Kyler Noah.

Left to cherish his memory; is his mother, Libby Frye of Archdale and his father, Darrell Frye and his wife Renee also of Archdale; his three sisters, Lori F. Hoyt and her husband Joe of Grayson, GA, Amy F. Plummer of Archdale and Stephanie F. Phillips and her husband Clay of Archdale; his step sister, Shannon Smith and her husband Stuart of High Point. Also surviving are his girlfriend and special companion, Donna Albertson of Trinity; many special aunts and uncles and his nieces and nephews, who loved Uncle Steve very much.

The family wishes to thank all of the caregivers who provided such good care and showed compassion for Steve over the last three years of his life.
