In 1881 at Malahide Twp (Div. 1, p. 43) is John H. Carter, 36, a farmer, Anglican, with wife, Maria, 30, born Ontario, and children, William, 10, and Anna, 12.

In 1891 at Malahide Township, Elgin County (Div. 1, p. 6) is John Carter, 44, a widower born at Ontario. He is a farm labourer. He is a Methodist.
In 1901 at Malahide Township (Div. 2, p. 17) is John H. Carter, 55, a farmer born at Ontario, 16 Sept. 1845 with wife, Pheba J., 28, born at Ontrio 18 May 1872.

There is a Henry Carter who lives next to Nicholas Carter Brown in 1891 but is the son of John and Sarah Ann.

While this family worked for Nicholas Carter BROWN of Dunboyne he was not related to Nicholas's mother Jemima CARTER BROWN or Aunt Sally CARTER

This appears to be the son of William and Christiana CARTER of Fort Erie and no known relationship to the Silas CARTER family.

Baptism records of St. Pauls, Fort Erie have John Henry Carter, son of William and Christiana born September 18, 1844, baptised September 28, 1845, his sister Mary Lavina was baptised on the same day.
