Ruby Pearl McCoy, 74, of 166 New York Ave., Harrisonburg, died Monday evening, April 28, 1997, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

A daughter of the late P.E. Lam and Noah Leona May Lam, she was born August 17, 1922, in McGaheysville.

Mrs. McCoy was educated in McGaheysville schools, worked at Celanase Corporation in Bridgewater for 25 years and was last employed as an aide at Liberty House Nursing Home. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, McGaheysville.

She was married to Robert S. (Tim) McCoy II, who preceded her in death on October 12, 1964.

Surviving are one son, Stan McCoy of Harrisonburg; one daughter, Barbara Ann Snyder of Syracuse, New York; one brother, Calvin Lam of Harrisonburg; two sisters, Beulah Morris of Honeybrook, Pennsylvania, and Florence Long of Annville, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Kaytie McCoy, Cody McCoy, Cole McCoy, Randy Snyder, Sandy Snyder and Jackie Newgarden; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 1997, at 11 o'clock at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ken Waclo officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7-8 o'clock at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home. Those desiring to do so, may make memorial contributions to the Harrisonburg Rescue Squad or Rockingham Memorial Hospital Hospice.
