Karen A. Bennett, of Malden, formerly of Melrose & Everett, took her own life at the age of 54. Karen was born in Malden, raised in Melrose and a graduate of the Northeast Vocational School in Wakefield, Class of 1980. She resided in Melrose for many years, Everett for 20 years and several years in Malden. Karen worked as a Waitress & Bartender for the Town Line, Mundo's, Patrick's, and Jack's all in Malden for many years. She loved traveling to Daytona Beach, FL and spending time with friends at the Eastside Social Club in Malden. Karen was a hardworker, enjoyed arts & crafts and a very giving person. She was the loving daughter of the late Arnold & Jean (Sullivan) Bennett. Caring sister of Kevin Bennett & his wife Joanne of Tewksbury and Ken Bennett of Everett. Cherished aunt of Nicole Bennett of Tewksbury. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday, Jan 9th from 4-7PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 10th at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Karen's name to the charity of your choice.
