Oscar Boyd Jr., age 87, of Rogers passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016.

He was born Oct. 21, 1929 in Shady Point, Oklahoma to Oscar L. Boyd Sr. and Winnie (Huges) Boyd.

He was the beloved husband of Sheila Boyd.

Oscar was in the Air Force during the Korean War.

He was later a publisher for the Morning News for 32 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Constance Lee Boyd; sisters, Fay, Margret, Thelma, and Marie; and one granddaughter, Haley Hendrickson.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Danny (and JudyJane) Boyd of Fayetteville, Billy Vern (and Charllot) Boyd of Beaumont, Texas, Michael Drew (and Lee) of Huston, Texas; step daughters, Suzy Stevenson of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Lynn Stevenson of Edmond, Oklahoma; step son, James (and Cindy) Stevenson of Rogers; sisters, survivors are sisters,Dorothy Bowen of Spiro, Oklahoma, Betty Siderio of West Berlin, New Jersey, and Marie and Thelma Boyd; twelve grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in the Rollins Chapel.

Burial will follow in Fayetteville National cemetery in Fayetteville.

Arrangements are under the care of Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
