Born on December 20, 1922 in Sellersville, she was a daughter of the late Melvin and Lillian (Bissey) Nice. She was a graduate of Souderton High School. She was a avid gardener, seamstress and craft person. Her gardens and flowers were well known in town. She was a member of Souderton Branch of Needlework Guild of America and held the office of secretary for 45 years. She was a lifetime member of Zwingli Church of Christ, taught Sunday School, active in “Still Going Strong” and Womens Guild for many years.
She worked for Bell Telephone in Souderton as a operator. Then PBX switchboard operator at SKF Industries in North Wales. She was a housewife and mother for many years before she went back into the working world. She then went to work for Gift and Paint center in Souderton for many years then ventured on to working in the paint and wallpaper department of Estate of Geo. S Snyder in Hatfield. When she retired she was back in her gardens full time enjoying every minute of every day.
Pauline is survived by her daughter, Sherry Tarantino, step-daughter Marie Rees, step-son Richard Curtis, brother Melvin Nice, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, William Nice, Leon Nice and Dennis Nice and a sister Lillian Nase.
A viewing will be held on Friday, January 6, from 9:30-10:45 AM at Zwingli United Church of Christ, 350 Wile Ave., Souderton, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Souderton.
