Simpson, Keith J. 77, of Lake St. Louis, MO Asleep in Jesus on December 31, 2016. Beloved husband of Sharon Simpson (nee Popham); loving father of Anton (Beryl) Simpson and Tim (Amy) Kilz; cherished grandfather of Jordan (Alex) Dykstra, Carley and Jack Kilz; dear brother of Janet Gilbert and Roger (Margaret) Simpson; Godfather of Marie Smith (nee Pearson) and uncle to many great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Joseph and Margaret Agnes Simpson (nee Bonnick).
Keith had a life of service. He served in the British Army as a Royal Mechanical Engineer and in the Royal Army of Oman. He remained in contact with the “Old Sweats” group, an ex-patriots group of the Oman Army. He was active with the Citizens Emergency Response Team in Elgin, Illinois. Keith came to the United States in 1999 after meeting Sharon while she was in the Air Force. He was a great support to her during this time and was active in the military spouse support club, 934th ASTS in Minneapolis, MN. Known as “The Brit”, he will always be remembered for being a great “Storyteller”. Everyone loved to listen to him recount his life’s adventures and listen to his wonderful British accent. He kept busy attending his grandchildren’s activities of color guard and soccer. Jack’s soccer teammates expected Keith to be at every game and keep the referees in check. He also loved to travel and to watch the birds. He loved America and it truly became his home and was a member of Joy Community Church. Visitation will be held at Hutchens-Stygar Funeral and Cremation Center, 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Dr. (St. Charles) on Thursday, January 5 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 6 from 9:30 until time of services at 10:30 at Joy Community Church (located in St. Charles River Church) 810 Westwood Industrial Park Dr. (Weldon Spring) 63304.
