Ron "Big Dog" Alan Long, 51, passed away surrounded by family at 12:26 p.m. on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.

He was born March 16, 1965 in Warsaw, Indiana to Charles Long Jr and Betty (Beasley) Long. He was the youngest of four siblings.

He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana and a 1984 Graduate of Warsaw High School. He worked at Merchant Metals of New Paris and bartended at Warsaw Bowl.

Ron lived and loved life on his terms. He was an avid fan of Alabama Clemson Tide and the Buffalo Bills. He followed NASCAR, specifically the career of Rusty Wallace and Tony Stewart. He enjoyed the outdoors and was the grill master for his many friends. Ron will always be remembered by his friends for his stories, antics, shenanigans and good times.

Ron is survived by his sister: Karla Long Riddell, and her fiancé Floyd McClelen (both of Albuquerque New Mexico); two brothers: Robert “Bob” (wife Wendy) Long (Warsaw, Indiana); Roger Long (Warsaw, Indiana); fifteen nephews and nieces, as well as many more great-nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents in 2006 and 2011.
