Alice completed three years of college work and taught in Appanoose county, Iowa, in Kansas, in Russell, Iowa and was principal at Downing, Iowa.
After retirement, she returned to the Porter Farm, south of Centerville. She was active in church work at Wesley Chapel, serving as organist, Sunday School teacher and vocalist.
She is survived by Briggs E, Lodi, Calif; Bert, Centerville and Clarence, Mystic; sisters Louise Emma, Los Angeles, Calif, Ethel and Mernie, Centerville, Mrs Grace Ross, Cincinnati and Mrs Gladys Wailes, Centerville.
