Rosemary M. Patterson, 94, or Taylorville died at 8:36 A.M. on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Taylorville Care Center. She was born on March 17, 1922 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the daughter of Walter and Mabel (Mueller) Christoffersen. On September 23, 1944 she married Dr. Norman C. Huss in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and he passed away on January 15, 1980. She then married Elmer J. Patterson on June 12, 1982 in Des Plaines, and he preceded her in death on February 22, 2006. Rosemary was a Registered Nurse, but spent most of her time caring for her family as a homemaker. She loved music, and especially enjoyed being active with her church choir in Assumption when she lived there. She enjoyed being a sports fan, especially a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears. Rosemary and Elmer spent a great amount of time traveling and fishing during their time together.
She is survived by her son: Dr. Robert (Janet) Huss of Taylorville; daughter: Susan Huss of Tucson, Arizona; step-son: Steven (Mita) Patterson of Wadsworth; grandchildren: Tara Malloy of Tucson, Arizona, Kevin (Glenda) Huss and Susie (Danny) Lindsey both of Taylorville; great grandchildren: Chase Lindsey and Asher Lindsey; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 husbands; and brother: Robert Christoffersen.
A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville with Rev. Steve Robinson officiating. Burial will be held in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Assumption. Visitation will be held from 1 P.M. until the time of the service on Thursday. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. McClure Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Taylorville is handling arrangements.
