Obituary
Dorothy Shaffer, 81, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016. A visitation will be held Saturday, July 30th from 10:00-11:00AM with the funeral service to follow at 11:00AM at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Interment will follow services at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Dorothy was born December 12, 1934 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska to Henry J. and Elsie H. (Haynie) Inman. She lived in Kansas City, Kansas the majority of her life. While in KCK she attended Grandview Baptist Church. Dorothy married Herbert on Halloween day in 1955. Dorothy and Herbert spent the last 9 years in Warsaw, Missouri and attended The Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. In her free time, Dorothy loved to quilt, solve jigsaw puzzles and crosswords.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Richard, Harry and Russell Inman and a sister, Wanetta Inman.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert Shaffer; daughter, Nyoka Isabell; sons, Erwin and Charles Shaffer; brothers, Roger and Herbert Inman; sister, Florence Norman; grandchildren, Chris Isabell, Desiree Waxmonski, Anthony Isabell, Reanna Dodson, Kenneth Shaffer, Kevin Shaffer and Justin Shaffer; and 9 great-grandchildren.
