RIMERSBURG - Robert O. Rimer, 75, of Rimersburg RD2, Toby Township, died suddenly Sunday in the Brookville Hospital.
He was born October 23, 1893, in Toby Township, the son of Patton and Rhoda Wilson Rimer. He was married June 3, 1920, to the former Gertrude Bashline, who survives.
Mr. Rimer was a member of the Cherry Run United Methodist Church, the Crossroads Grange 1311 and the Clarion County Historical Society.
He was a farmer and spent his entire life in Toby Township serving as a Toby Township school director for 12 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters - Mrs. Frank (Ruth) Keefer of Rimersburg RD2, Mrs. Bradley (Lois) Manning of Annondale, N.J., and Virginia Rimer of Los Allos, Calif.; two sons - Ray E. Rimer at home and James R. Rimer of Shippenville RD1; nine grandchildren; two sisters - Mrs. Mabel Reichardt, Decatur, Ga., and Mrs. Richard Murphy of West Monterey.
One brother, Samuel, preceded him in death.
Friends are being received at the Moore-Kline Funeral Home, Rimersburg.
The Crossroads Grange will hold memorial services at 6 p.m. today.
Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Gale Jewell, pastor of the Cherry Run United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Rimersburg Cemetery.
