Rhonda Jane Pressley Peters, age 53, of Douglasville, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 following an extended illness. She was born on December 1, 1963, in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of the late Walter Ray Pressley and the late Linda Ruth Johns Pressley. She graduated from Campbell High School and later joined the United States Navy. She worked for CKS Packaging and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Douglasville.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Burlon "Bobby" Peters, Jr., on May 18, 2016.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Jessica and Joseph Shuler of Columbus, GA; son: Derek Peters, and his fiancée Hannah Crocker, of Douglasville, GA; sister and brother-in-law: Andrea and Roy Ybarbo of Mableton, GA; brothers and sister-in-law: Ronald Pressley of North Carolina and Roger and Jackie Pressley of Cedartown, GA; grandchildren: Ember Shuler and Avrie Shuler; mother-in-law: Mary Arnold; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jeff and Tina Peters of Winston, GA, Allen and Beth Peters of Gulf Breeze, FL, and Cindy Peters of Douglasville, GA; nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from Hightower's Memorial Chapel in Douglasville, GA with Pastor Steve McFall officiating.
Interment will follow the service in Bright Star Cemetery with the United States Navy providing military honors.
