Rightly Lady Mary de Vere, third dau. of Aubrey, twentieth and last Earl of Oxford (see his burial 22 Mch. 1702-3), by his second wife, Diana, dau. of George Kirke (see her burial 16 Apl. 1719). The Funeral Book says that she died 1 Aug., aged forty-four. Le Neve, in one of his MSfi., says : " Having been at the prayers at St. James's Chapel, and afterwards going to take the air in Hyde Park before dinner, was there seized with a fit of the apoplexy, and expired in her coach." She died unmarried.
